Shipping & delivery

Every set is made to order and ships from Japan with tracking, and delivery is included in the price you see. Below is exactly what happens between your order and your doorstep.

Production time

Standard	Dispatched within 4 business days of payment, then about 14 days in transit — about 18 days in all
Rush production (+$26)	Dispatched within 2 business days of payment, then about 14 days in transit — about 16 days in all
EMS shipping upgrade (+$27)	Dispatched within 4 business days of payment, then about 7 days in transit — about 11 days in all (about 9 days with rush production)
Sizing Kit option (+$12)	Add the Sizing Kit option (+$12) and we send it first: dispatched within 2 business days, in your hands in about 14 days. Your set is then made on the schedule above, starting the day your numbers reach us — about 34 days in all, or about 27 days with the EMS shipping upgrade, about 32 days with rush production, or about 23 days with both

You choose how to give us your size. Enter your ten finger numbers directly, using the size chart on the product page to help you find them, and we start painting the day you pay. Or, if you do not know your numbers yet, add the Sizing Kit option (+$12): we send it out, and painting starts the day your numbers reach us. The kit is yours to keep and always travels by standard post, so the EMS shipping upgrade does not shorten its journey, though rush production still speeds up painting once your numbers arrive.

How long will it take?

Standard	Around 18 days from the day you place your order.
Rush production (+$26)	Around 16 days from the day you place your order.
EMS shipping upgrade (+$27)	Around 11 days from the day you place your order, or around 9 days with rush production.
With the Sizing Kit option	Around 34 days in all (around 27 with EMS, around 32 with rush production, or around 23 with both), because the kit travels to you and your numbers travel back before painting begins.

Most of the wait is the post, not the painting. Painting takes 4 business days by default, or 2 business days with rush production; the EMS shipping upgrade shortens the transit afterwards, independently of production speed. The Sizing Kit option, if added, always travels at standard speed regardless of the EMS shipping upgrade, since it is shipped and timed separately.

When we ship, and what happens if we are late

Sizing Kit option (if added)	We ship within 2 business days of your payment.
All design orders	We ship within 4 business days of your payment, or of the day your ten numbers reach us if you asked for a sizing kit.

Business days mean Monday to Friday in Japan, excluding Japanese public holidays and our year-end closure. The day your payment arrives is not counted. If you asked for a sizing kit, the time the kit spends reaching you and the time you take to send us your numbers are not counted either.

If we cannot ship by the date above, we will write to you before that date. That email will give you a new shipping date and tell you that you can cancel and be refunded in full. If the new date is more than 30 days after the original one, or if we cannot give you a firm date at all, your order is cancelled and refunded automatically unless you reply to say you are happy to wait. If we then miss the new date as well, we will write again, and that time your order is cancelled and refunded unless you reply agreeing to wait longer. You never have to ask us for the refund.

Shipping cost

Every country	Included in the price. There is no separate delivery charge — the figure on the product page is the figure you pay.
United States	Shipping and import duties are both included (DDP). Nothing is owed when the parcel arrives.
EMS shipping upgrade	A flat $27 worldwide, on top of the item price. Tick it in the cart before you pay to have your set sent by Japan Post EMS instead of standard international post.

Why one price for every country? Postage from Japan differs by only a couple of dollars between regions, and a single all-in price is easier to trust than a total that grows at the last step. Duty for US orders is prepaid on your behalf, so there is never an invoice at the door.

Shipping methods

Standard (tracked)	Ships by Japan Post international parcel — around 14 days after dispatch. Included in the price and suitable for most orders.
EMS shipping upgrade (+$27)	Ships by Japan Post EMS — around 7 days after dispatch. Tracked, signature available, insured. Tick the option in the cart before you pay.

Every order ships with a tracking number, which is sent to you the day the parcel leaves the studio.

Customs and duties

United States

Import duties are prepaid by us (DDP). There is nothing to pay when your parcel arrives — no broker fees, no surprise invoices at the door. This is already included in the price you see.

All other countries

Delivery is included in your price. Any import duties, taxes or customs handling fees charged by your country are the buyer's responsibility and are not included in the price. Please check your own country's rules before ordering — thresholds vary widely and we cannot estimate them on your behalf.

Address accuracy

Parcels are sent only to the address supplied at checkout. Once a label is created the address cannot be changed, and we cannot redirect a parcel in transit. Please double-check your address before paying.

If your parcel is delayed

International post occasionally stalls in customs. If your tracking has not moved for 14 days, message us and we will open an investigation with the postal service. Once the postal service confirms that a parcel is lost, we will either remake your set or refund you in full.

Why isn't nail glue included? Nail glue is flammable and cannot legally be sent by air mail from Japan. Adhesive tabs are included, and glue is inexpensive and easy to find at any drugstore if you want a longer hold.

Other policies

Where we ship

We ship worldwide, with one exception: we cannot send parcels to destinations where Japan Post has suspended or restricted service, and that list changes. If your country is affected when you order, we will email you within two business days and refund you in full.

Refused, undeliverable and lost parcels

Wrong or incomplete address	If a parcel comes back to us because the address was wrong or incomplete, we will send it again once you confirm the correct address. Return and re-ship postage is paid by you.
Refused, or duties unpaid	If you refuse the parcel, or it is returned because local duties or taxes were not paid, we refund the price of your set less the postage already spent in both directions.
Abandoned or destroyed	Where a parcel is abandoned or destroyed by customs because charges were not paid, we are not able to refund it.
Confirmed lost	Once the postal service confirms a parcel is lost, we will either remake your set or refund you in full. We cannot open that enquiry until tracking has been still for 14 days.

Limits and governing law

Whatever happens, the most we can be responsible for is the amount you paid for your order. We are not responsible for delays caused by customs, weather, postal disruption, or changes to duty rules. These terms are governed by the law of Japan.
